More Flights Home: BA Expands Daily Service to Barbados

British Airways has just made it a whole lot easier to get home to Barbados. From 25 October, the airline is launching a daily, year-round service between London Gatwick and Bridgetown, and come the winter peak it will be running three flights a day to the island once Heathrow services increase too. By summer 2027, Heathrow is set for double-daily flights for the first time ever, as part of what BA is calling its biggest-ever commitment to Barbados after 72 years of serving the route.
All told, the expansion adds more than 120,000 extra seats a year between the UK and Barbados, a near-70% jump in winter capacity alone. Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. chief executive Andrea Franklin summed up why it matters simply: "Ensuring Barbados remains accessible to our valued UK visitors is a top priority." For the thousands of Bajans and Bajan families living across Britain, that accessibility means something even bigger than tourism numbers.
More seats on more flights means more chances to get back for a mother's birthday, a christening, or just a long-overdue visit to family in St Michael or St Lucy. And every time someone flies home, there's usually a barrel or a box travelling with them in spirit, if not in the hold — packed with things that are hard to find or simply cost less to send than to buy fresh out there. That everyday rhythm of travel and shipping, of flights booked and barrels packed in the same week, is the heartbeat of what we do at Zan Shipping every day.
If you're planning a trip home to Barbados on one of these new BA flights, why not send a barrel ahead of you and travel light? Our barrels start from just £85, and right now it's buy 3, get 1 empty free.
